Nestled in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains along the roaring Arkansas River, the Trail Sisters Women’s Half Marathon boasts the mission to increase women’s participation in trail running through inspiring action and education.

Trail Runners, Scenic Views. With twists and turns through Rocky Mountain sagebrush and ponderosa pines, this half-marathon course provides participants with stunning views of Collegiate Peaks.

Enjoying the beauty of late summer, this course is one for the books, especially for women eager to break into the trail running world all the while experiencing the breathtaking nature of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Starting at 801 Front Loop, this 13.1-mile looping course brings runners along the Arkansas River Trail, Whipple Trail, and Bridge to Bridge Trail before reaching the historic Colorado Midland RR Grade. It’s then out on Broken Boyfriend Trail before taking a turn onto Camp Elevation Trail that takes runners toward the Collegiate Peaks Scenic Overlook. Here, it’s a turnaround to head back toward the finish line. Runners will take the Django Trail followed by the Midland Trail, all before reaching the finish line back where it all began. With a time limit of five (5) hours, this half marathon event is suitable for both runners and walkers alike. There are also three aid stations throughout that carry water, electrolytes, and snacks, along with other basic first aid and menstrual materials. Finally, although a day of celebration, the event host asks all participants to inform their family and friends to spectate at the start and finish line in order to manage traffic throughout the course.
