On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Mineola Nature Preserve (Mineola, TX), runners can choose from a Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K, each designed to deliver big medals and vibrant community energy thanks to Run Different stepping in to bring this event to East Texas for the first time.
Course & Format
The half marathon starts at 8:00 AM CDT, followed by the 10K at 8:05 AM and the 5K at 8:15 AM. All courses loop the preserve—half marathoners log four laps, 10K runners two, and 5K completes a single loop—on flat, paved paths lined by trees and mild fall foliage.
What Sets It Apart
Every finisher receives a massive 5-inch finisher medal (5K, 10K, and half) and an event-themed t‑shirt while supplies last. Top-three age‑group finishers—and overall/male/female masters—also earn bonus medals, creating extra motivation for competitive runners in a friendly, small‑town setting.
Although not an elite racing event, Western Invasion scores in fun-factor and accessibility. It’s ideal for local clubs, costume racers, or anyone seeking a relaxed early‑October finish line under fall skies.
