Event Details

Nearly 1,200 runners and walkers crossed the finish line in both races combined at the 2008 running of Woodinville's Super Jock & Jill Half Marathon & 4-Mile Run/Walk, which takes participants on an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville and features long stretches along rural country roads and the paved trails that parallel the Sammamish River, which flows through this area.

From the starting line at the brewery in the Tourist District on 145th Street, runners follow what is roughly a clockwise loop along the race route's out-and-back direction, heading out northward along Woodinville River Road toward Sammamish River Park near Interstate 405. The course then heads west over to Bothell Landing Park, passing by the edge of Blyth Park on its way through the Bothell Landing Park's trails. Runners will cross two bridges as they make their way around this turn, which passes right by Bothell's Wayne Golf Course.

Next, runners then head northward through the park into the town of Bothell, crossing under Highway 522 at about the mile 6 marker into the University of Washington-Bothell campus. Runners make a loop for the next few miles through the town and then re-connect with the Sammamish River trail between mile markers 9 and 10, and then head through both Sammamish River Park and Wilmot Park on their way back down toward the Redhook Brewery for the race finish.

As both the 4-mile race and the half-marathon are open to both runners and walkers, organizers will start those walking the half marathon at 8:00 AM, followed by the half marathon runners at 9:00 AM. Participants can expect to encounter some rolling hills along the course as well as plenty of flat stretches, particular along the trail sections that run alongside the Sammamish River.
