The Bluegrass Reaper Challenge is a running event that takes place in Berea, Kentucky. The event offers five distance options: 50K, a 50K relay (for teams of 2-5), marathon (10 x 2.6mi), half marathon, 10K. The races are all timed and take place on a 2.6 mile loop.
Runners have 40 minutes to complete each lap, and each lap begins every 40 minutes. If a runner does not finish the loop in 40 minutes, they are eliminated. If a runner completes the loop in under 40 minutes, they have to wait until the next lap starts before they can continue running. Finish times are calculated based on each runner’s splits from their various laps.
Every finisher will receive a custom finisher award or medal. The top three men and women in each race will receive a special handmade award. If there are enough non-binary participants, there will be top 3 non-binary division awards. There are no age group awards.
The event encourages participants to bring their pop-up tents, lawn chairs, and anything else they need for post-race festivities. The designated “tent city” will be set up in the softball field adjacent to the start/finish line.
