Overview

Held on Daufuskie Island, a 30-minute ferry ride from Hilton Head Island, SC, the Daufuskie Island Marathon offers a marathon and half marathon. As soon as runners step onto the island from the ferry, they will be greeted with a coffee, a cinnamon roll, and entertainment.

The route starts at Haig Point, ventures to Freeport, meanders along Church Rd, and returns to Haig Point along the beach.

Post-race, there is a catered picnic lunch and beverages, including a beer for those of legal drinking age. Each runner receives high-end swag and a finisher’s medal. Runners can take their medal to Jacy, a local artist, to engrave their finishing time

Course Description

This race experience is a USATF certified course for 13.1 and 26.2 making it a qualifier for other marathons nation-wide.
The course follows many of the highlights of Daufuskie Island such as Haig Point Lighthouse, Freeport, Historical Society, Tabby Circle and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean
Consider making this a weekend getaway runcation so that you may have time to explore this lovely, rustic island.
Food, refreshments, medal engraving, and race photos are included in your registration.
Food and beverage is also available to spectators for a small fee.
Finisher medals are presented to each finisher. Race swag will be announced
