The Annual Snowbird Challenge, held at the Civic Center Sports Complex in Anderson, SC, offers four races on a looped course. Runners must complete a certain number of 2.62-mile loops within a 45-minute time frame: 50k (12), half (5), relay, or trot (2).
The course, set along walking paths with occasional driveway intersections, goes past a tennis court, community park, two ponds, an old haunted house, and ends amid the four baseball fields. There is an elevation gain of 112 feet per loop. Runners can opt for using the grass that lines 80% of the walking path.
All finishers get a medal, stickers, socks, and photos. The after party has raffles and music to celebrate.
