Set among the rolling hills of northwestern Connecticut near the border with Massachusetts, the Hogsback Half Marathon is described by race organizers as an event with a “very fast and stunning course,” which draws between 150 to 200 runners each year.
The 13.1-mile race takes place during the area’s peak fall foliage season, and the course takes runners from the starting line at the Goodwin Dam on Durst Road through the towns of Riverton, Pleasant Valley, Hartland and Colebrook, with ample views of the Farmington River and the nearby Peoples State Forest.
