Welcome to the 40th annual Human Race Half Marathon, 10k, & 5k; a series of races part of the Choice City Running Festival. Scenic Views. Uniquely designed to provide participants the opportunity to get a scenic and all-encompassing tour of the town, the Human Race Half Marathon takes runners through downtown Fort Collins.
Throughout, runners will get to experience the abundant nature that decorates the city across varied terrain including road, paved trails, and gravel. Taking place in August, you can expect hot summer temperatures!

Overview
Course Description
Heading toward Grandview via Mountain Avenue, half marathon participants set forth on Taft Hill Road, running along the river in pursuit of Lee Martinez Park. Continuing on Poudre Bike Trail, runners journey under Timberline Road before turning around and heading back on the trails toward Mountain Avenue. Runners will finish at Civic Center Park. Flat and fast, runners will have a three (3) hour time limit to finish the half marathon, requiring a 13.44 minute/mile pace. Starting at 7:00 a.m, that takes runners to 10:00 a.m for a maximum finish time. There are five (5) aid stations throughout, each stocked with water, electrolytes and first aid supplies. It’s still encouraged, however, to also come equipped to personally support yourself via personal fuel choices.
