Join us for some mountain therapy in the beautiful Bighorn Mountains and Ten Sleep Canyon for our sixth annual Out of the Darkness & Into the Bighorns event!
We’ve had the privilege of donating a total of $5000, with an additional $1000 match from Blue Cross Blue Shield for WyoGives, to Cloud Peak Counseling Center for their free walk-in clinic and their new Crisis Stabilization Center in Worland, thanks to all of our amazing sponsors and registrants! Our goal this year is to raise that much again to continue supporting these crucial suicide prevention efforts that benefit our entire state.
Out of the Darkness & Into the Bighorns is operated under a special use permit with the Bighorn National Forest and is an equal opportunity provider.
This course was cancelled in 2023 due to low registration, and we take responsibility for that. We got a late start verifying the mileage and vert on this course. Weather didn’t help, but we have been planning this course for a long time and are so excited to make it happen. This Ultra epitomizes Wyoming scenery, Hyattville is unmatched in charm and beauty as you start at the Logging Road and run up into the red foothills and into the unique sandstone and limestone rock formations overlooking the epic Big Horn Basin. This is my favorite view in Wyoming, you can see all of the mountain ranges that encircle the Basin and all of the badlands, winding rivers, farms and red hills below. You will continue up into the Bighorn National Forest and get a taste of the diversity of our environment as you run higher into the Bighorn mountains and back down through the Ten Sleep Canyon to finish at the Ten Sleep Hatchery.
The Fan Favorite Ten Sleep Canyon Half Marathon & 5k will return for the fourth year, taking you up and back down the beautiful Old Ten Sleep Highway from the Ten Sleep Fish Hatchery. Registration will open February 12th.
