Entering its 7th year, the Estrella Mountain Trail Fest Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k located in Goodyear, Arizona during the second week of December. Luckily, Arizona brings with it generally mild temperatures during the holiday season, so raceday shouldn’t be any different. Point-to-point, this half marathon course takes runners through the scenic mountain range of Estrella Mountain Regional Park. With scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges, desert landscapes, and wetlands, these trails are surely to be remembered. As for Goodyear itself, the city is largely suburbia, noted as one of the primary suburbs in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

Starting at the Estrella Mountain competitor track and ending at the Estrella Mountain Coldwater Trail, this course is a simple point-to-point layout, with runners remaining on the same trail for the duration. With low total elevation, both gain and loss, and an average grade between 2.5%-4.3%, this course is classified as fairly smooth, flat, and approachable for most fitness levels. To the satisfaction of all participants, the event host has compiled and promised an awesome and memorable swag bag, however, the surprise of what’s in it will have to wait for race day. Upon finishing, like most races, event organizers will present you with a commemorative finisher’s medal. With a four (4) hour time limit to finish, this shouldn’t be a problem for most.
